Biodiversity

Otter

Last year, we reviewed our biodiversity approach and re-confirmed our commitment to enhancing and protecting the quality of the natural environment across our operations in the UK and internationally.

In addition, to the biodiversity improvements being brought about through SCaMP, we are also working on SSSI improvement on our land and putting in place biodiversity action plans, contributing to our goals for the entire region.

We also, as a matter of course, include biodiversity in the planning and execution of our capital investment work , seeking ways to enhance its value. Demonstrating the business case for biodiversity is vital to make it a consideration in the day-to-day management of operational sites. In the year ahead we will focus on five of our sites to identify the business benefits of active biodiversity management.
