HQ efficiency

At our Warrington headquarters, we have been running a range of initiatives aimed at saving energy and at raising awareness of energy efficiency issues.

Initiatives included a bank holiday switch-off campaign, a new cooling system and fresh air rather than air conditioned air being ducted into some plant rooms. We are also introducing smart-metering for each of the buildings at the Lingley Mere site and looking at refurbishment of buildings and how we can build energy efficiency into this. The site’s Carbon Trust energy efficiency accreditation has been renewed.

Our headquarters site is being expanded into a multi tenanted business park. Four new buildings within the completed first phase of development have been given a BREEAM (The Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) rating of Very Good. This assessment looks at the performance of a building based on a number of criteria including how the construction is managed, energy usage, health and well being, pollution, transport related carbon dioxide emissions, land use, ecology and materials used in construction and water consumption.
