In an effort to reduce our costs we have awarded two new contracts to Sappel and to H20 Water Service for the manufacture and installation of water meters. We have also negotiated a free joinery service and a ‘no fit, no fee’ arrangement with installation company H20 Water Service.
Our aim is to increase the number of our customers in the regulated business taking advantage of our free meter option to help them save money on their water bills, use less water and so reduce their carbon footprint.
We are also considering improvements in other areas including offering our customers the ability to apply for free meter installation online and by phone and using mobile devices to check information at installation to speed up the process, increase sales and improve customer service.
We have also been trialling automated meter reading with our contract partner and leading meter reading company, Siemens, which would enable us to read around 100 meters in less than ten minutes.
