In 2007, we started to standardise our sustainability criteria across our capital programme, starting with our four main capital partners. This approach will have a significant impact on a number of our key sustainability performance indicators including carbon emissions reduction and waste minimisation.
We have updated our documentation to improve our management of sustainability criteria and have carried out an audit of our partners’ performance to check legal compliance, identify best practice and also flush out any inconsistencies across our capital investment programme.
The results of this audit were very encouraging. All our partners scored more than 80 per cent for their contractual compliance.
